Important Academic Information

Grades are given on Common Formative Assessments, Quizzes, Tests, (Semester Exams) Projects, Classwork, Research Papers and Notebooks. Your child's teacher should be giving at least two grades per week starting in the 1st nine week grading period.

Grades should be a reflection of what degree the student has mastered a National Common Core Standard over all semester grade should be a reflection of what a student’s score on the PARCC Assessment is projected to be.

Most practice work will be done in the classroom or Tiger Up Time, very little should end up at home however if a student doesn't take advantage of TuT or Class Time, then the expectation is that it should go home as work to be done at home.

Tiger Up Time is designed to do these types of tasks:

  1. Give short curriculum progress assessments (CPA) to judge where our student's are in regards to specific common core standards. These assessments are very short and shouldn’t take longer 10-15 min.
  2. Students are to work on any practice assignments that are given to build targeted Math and Language Arts Skills.
  3. Students may be asked to makeup or redo classroom assessments, the campus target for assessments is 70% - 100% mastery.
  4. Students can receive peer or teacher tutorial help.
  5. Students may be sent to a teacher when they need help in a subject prior approval with pass required.
