Classroom Management Plan

Koogler Middle School Classroom Management Plan

Teacher: Lana Eckley

School Year: 2018-2019

Content: 8th Science

Procedures: A procedure is the way that we do things.

To do things right, we have to follow some simple procedures, for example:

To open your locker, you have to select your combination as directed by the lock manufacturer.

To place a call on your phone, you need to enter the number in the right order.

So, to be successful in learning, you need to follow some simple procedures.

Entrance:

Bell Rings:

Students should be seated and working, NOT rushing into the room and trying to catch up.

Tardies:

Bring your tardy pass and put it on my desk.  Do not interrupt. If you do not have a pass, get your card and fill it out.

During Instruction:

Direct Instruction:

Sit without disturbing others. Please feel free to ask questions, just don’t interrupt and wait your turn.

Keeping a Notebook/Journal:

Journals will be used daily. Always make sure you have it with you.

Getting Student Attention:

If we are doing an activity, the lights will be turned off and on to get student attention.

To Get The Teacher’s Attention:

Raise your hand.  Do not yell or get up out of your seat to come and get me.

While Working:

Group Work:

Stay focused on your work, not your weekend.  EVERYONE participates or nonparticipant is removed.

Independent Work:

Work is done quietly without help from your partner or others.

Partner Work:

Done only at your table, no getting up and wandering the room to see what others are doing unless told to do so.

Current Assignments

Grading Policy

Grades will be posted on a regular basis.  Points are assessed based on length, importance and difficulty of the assignment.  Tests will be more points than daily work and labs more than worksheets or quizzes.

Late work will be accepted. On Fridays, students will be given a missing assignment report.  They have until the following Friday to turn those assignments in. After that, the grade will remain a zero.

Corrections of any assignments below a 70% are allowed.  Students MUST have the original assignment.  They will correct the answers they missed, attach the corrections to the original assignment and get them signed by a parent.  Students will have one week after the assignment is returned to do corrections.
