Mrs. Sledzinski (pronounced Sled-jin-ski) is entering her fourth year as principal at Koogler. As prinicpal she supervises: the English and Social Studies Departments, staffing, grades, the master calendar, the 90 day plan, finances, maintenance, SAT, professional development, and safety. 

Mrs. Sledzinski graduated from Central Bucks High School West in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, earned her Bachelors Degree from Waynesburg University in Art, completed the Teacher Education Program at the University of New Mexico, and received her Masters Degree in Education Administration from Grand Canyon University. She brings has 19 years of teaching and administrative experience from several four corners area schools.

Mrs. Sledzinski has taught Computers, Pre-K, Reading and Art and is also certified to teach K-8 and Social Studies. She has previously served as a middle school assistant principal, middle school principal and high school assistant principal. Mrs. Sledzinski has won awards for: VFW Educator of the Year, School District Teacher of the Year, the New Mexico School Board Association's Excellence for Student Achievement Award, and Aztec High School's Make a Difference Award.

Mrs. Sledzinski has been married for 17 years and has 1 child. She loves to be outdoors, paint, and garden.

Philosophy: Education is essential to have having a high quality life, no one can take what you know away from you. It is critical we empower students with the knowledge they need to be successful adults.

Motto: Before we arrive, we need to know how to get there. Our job as educators  involves showing students how to: work, find answers, stay organized, reason, and problem solve. We can't expect them to do all of these things without first teaching them how to do them.



Ms. Hamilton (Not related to Mr. Hamilton at Koogler) is our assistant principal in charge of special education, educational assistants, keys, duty schedules, the Math Department and Social Work.

She graduated from Richland High School in Gibsonia, Pennsylvania, earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Penn State University in Elementary Education, Participated in Education Abroad through Penn State, attended the Farmington branch of New Mexico Highlands University, Master’s Programs in Special Education and completed her Master’s in Educational Leadership in 2009 from NMHU. She brings with her 21 years of teaching and administrative experience from several four corners area schools and the Navajo Reservation.

Ms. Hamilton has taught Elementary, middle school and high school special education, behavioral intervention programs, reading intervention, and all academics. She is licensed to teach K-8, Special Education K-12 and K-12 Administration. She has previously served as an acting principal for alternative high school, special education building coordinator, Crisis intervention Trainer, and mentor teacher/mentor trainer.

Mrs. Hamilton has 2 children. She loves to be outdoors, travel, play softball and volleyball, and rescue animals.

Philosophy: Education it the key to empowerment.  The more we know, the more we have control over what happens to us.  The more we know, the more control we have in making positive decisions for our future.

Motto: Go for it! Everyone has dreams, but dreams only come true from persistence and perseverance.  To make a dream come true you need to make the choice to take action instead of waiting for it to fall in your lap.


Mr. Arpelar is our new athletic director and assistant prinicpal in charge of student discipline, athletics, facilities use, 504 plans, attendance, the Electives Department, and the Science Department.
